  MNSC - PP: opened for 1 hour before decanting and serving. Notes of smoke and mint. A little herbaceous but still drinking well.

  Old barn planks and saddle leather on the nose. Surprising amount of fruit still here but nicely matured, and backed by plenty of cherry acids for a very smooth overall presentation that dramatically transformed over a couple hours! My two bottles were actually signed by Charles Wagner. Lots of fun for my sisters 35th birthday.

  1976 Caymus Special Selection offers cherry pipe tobacco aromas, earth and hints of cassis. Full bodied and filled with fruit, the wine ends with sweet, dark chocolate and black cherry flavors.

  Dark colour, black fruit, still outstanding but not as great as it used to be. May be a bottle that was less than ideally stored.

  Les Degustateurs (Custom House Chicago IL): Dinner wine and from magnum. One guest said this was at the peak of perfection. Could not have been better. Awesome flavor, color depth, smooth and bountiful on the palate. A real tour du california.
