Color: borderline purple, with signs of aging on the rim Nose: dried plum, spiced cola & cherry.
Taste: smoothed-put tannins, yet still dry on the finish. Full-bodied, but hardly overpowering. Drinks like a Bordeaux with drying spice & earth on the finish, yet still very much a Howell Mountain wine with that signature dried blackberry, tobacco, and just a smidge of Mountain herbs underlying the heavy fruit.
Overall, this has aged quite well, and can see it going to the 20 year mark. Complex, big, and very much a Bordeaux meets Howell mountain type of wine. Love it!

Hour decant. Black cherry predominates up front with road tar and leather on the back end. The tannins are largely resolved and there is noticeable acidity.

Monthly Men's Wine Dinner (Black Bottle, Bellevue, WA): Showed beautifully if a bit tight upon opening with thick body of inky violet. After a confused phased, blossomed into a more delicate, silky texture. Unusual but delicious blend of 65% Petit Verdot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. My #2 of 5 and the group's WOTN.
