  • Popped this after a long day. And it brought me joy right off the bat. I will drink one glass tonight because I am sure it will unfold into a more impressive wine than it already is on PnP. That’s exciting, because it already shows enough to rate in the low to mid-90s.

About 16 hours later: gorgeous ruby magenta, not even close to looking its age. Beautiful floral bouquet is all elegance and warmth, with a nice lead pencil note as well. Excellent ripe, round fruit in the mouth. Rich. Feminine. Clearly drinking at its peak, I would opt to drink this sooner rather than later, while it is still fresh and vibrant. Excellent combination of primary and secondary elements. 5-13-17-9: 94/100.

  • Decanted at restaurant - 1.5 hours. Needed all that time and got much better in my last glass - pencil shavings, dark fruit, leather, all the old Bordeaux magic. Maybe a touch past the it’s best. Fruit and acid still intact and in balance, but lacked a touch of freshness and length

  • Dark ruby in color with a wide brick rim

Earthy nose with light oak, black fruits and tobacco.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with red and black fruits, wood, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, licorice, dark chocolates, black tea and black pepper.

Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 35 year old is still drinking beautifully. This Second Growth Bordeaux is nicely balanced and complex.

Peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 10+ years.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 4 hours. I did not decant it, but let it open up in the bottle.

    Wine Spectator 96 points.

A good food wine that I paired with beef brisket. Gorgeous.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

    13.5% alcohol by volume.

    93 points.

    $275.

  • As per previous note, this is such a dark horse, and remarkably forward for a Las Cases.

  • (92+ Points) Lightest color. Dried roses, blackberry, cherry sauce & sumac tea. Med intensity.
