Too young now I guess.Very floral nose, almost like smelling a Bounce sheet…the mouth is excellent with dried fruits flavors with mocha and nuts on the finish. Dry tannins now, wait a few years before they get smoother.

Going up blind against same producers Seleccion Especial-15.
And in the nose it's pretty similar. The fruit is pretty similar and both are spicey. But a little more complexity and concentration in this one. As it should be. A bit early imho. But full of potential

A 93 for now. Starting to shut down. Even a 5 hr decant wouldn’t wake it up. Tannins are big and bold. 6 mo ago this was singing after a 2 hr decant. Hold and wait.

Dille and vanilla. Dense in every which way. Dark fruit. Stables. Some tobacco. Acid is rather prominent and maybe this is a little hot alcohol wise. Liked this and feels well made but perhaps a little iffy about the QPR.

Full body reds (Newmarket, Auckland): Tempranillo 75%, Mazuelo 15%, Graciano 10%. Decant for one hour. Fruity flavours dominating, fresh dark fruits, precised, warm cedar, spices and creamy notes. Chewy but supple tannins, full body, lush and rich, grand structure with fine details. Long finish. Amazing Rioja! Huge potential ahead.

Bodegas Muga (Muga, Haro, Rioja): Very dark and dense purple. Similar brightness and cherry / raspberry scent to the 11 PE. Denser and firmer tannins though, albeit fine ones. Needs a long time. *(***)

A Couple of Days in Rioja; 11/12/2018-11/13/2018 (Haro and Logroño, Spain): Deeply saturated color. Gushes ripe dark red fruit and spicy oak. Big wine, very lush, strong wood imprint, fruit that borders on overripe, adequate acidity. It reminds me of why I stopped drinking Chateauneuf. One sip was enough for me.

70% Tempranillo, 30% Mazuelo/Graciano, 100% new oak. Intense, almost aggressive nose. *Huge* wine - full of energy and power, dark and inky, very serious, ambitious. Explosive and mega-tannic. Still too early. Needs time!

Served blind, oak, pencil, nutty, quite light weight, alcohol pushing through, sweet aftertaste. It's not there yet.
