Not at all over the hill. Fruit has subsided but still fully present. Secondary floral and herbal notes were at the fore, maybe a slight touch of ox. Crowd loved it. Drink now, but no huge urgency.

Lovely ripe apple and pear on the nose Honey and the fruit notes carry to the palate. This was so different than whites I mostly drink. Quite compelling Not sure how to score as I don’t know what it should taste like. I guess given it’s subtlety and complexity I will say 90.

Eyes - gold to light amber Nose - cooked apples, honey Mouth - apple pie, mouthfeel - big, finish - med to long, alcohol - high, acid - light/medium, round and lush but elegant Unique wine, medium value

Amber color and honeysuckle on the nose. Oxidized, but not overly so, and a little bit of acidic tinge. I picked up on the stone fruit flavor profile and the honeyed mouthfeel.

excellent, weighty white - unique flavor profile with stone fruits, nuts, lemon peel, honey. Some finishing bitterness that becomes savory with food - a fig, prosciutto pizza was a fantastic match

The last bottle was great, but this one was excellent. After an hour, it coated the mouth with honey and preserved lemons with an incredibly long finish and an unctuousness that begged you me come back for another sip.

super cool. nutty and just a touch sherried, but lots of honeyed character and weight and richness that shines around cellar temperature (not cold!). drinking fabulously. cork came out pristine - recorked at winery prior to hitting the distribution channels?

Second time in less than 2 weeks and this time from proper stemware. Similarly impressive and perhaps even fresher fruit. This wine has a real je ne sais quoi quality that keeps drawing you back to it. Once again, my only criticism is a lack of length.

Caveat, this was drunk from a simple plastic cup. Fascinating wine with some oxidative notes. I thought skin contact, but apparently not. Save for a short finish, this was impressive.

Yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of quince, dried apricots and a hint of sherry. Flavors of quince, apricot and peach pit. Medium acidity, medium bodied. Drink now.
NOTE: bottle was purchased direct from winery recently.

Sadly, slightly corked, but slight enough that it can be overlooked with effort. Beneath, nice tangerine, dusty minerals, soft peach, smoke and soft oxidative notes. On the palate, this shows rhe corkedness more, slightly flat and bitter.

Medium gold with amber tint Medium plus aromas or ripe and unripe stonefruit/ honey and rocks/ salt with very pleasant mildly oxidative nutty notes Full palate which echoes above aromas and additional tamarind quality and a beautiful mineral/ saline aspect at the finish Medium high/ high acidity and long finish This wine is simply beautiful at this stage - just a wonderful aged white wine So glad I bought two bottles as the last one was much more oxidized - price you pay for aged whites
Single blind tasting. Old gold with amber Aromatics medium +. Oxidized. Honey and almond blossom. No oak Palate medium. Acid medium. Phenolic bitterness. Honey, nuts with a secondary of flowers. Finish has a medium + length. The balance is off due to its oxidation and relatively lack of acidity.

I saw some reviews stating that this was overly-oxidized, but I found it to be in a perfect drinking window. Some age is certainly evident, but still showing tremendous structure and length.
Bottle oxidized - not past the enjoyment stage but definitely past the point where tasting notes are possible Just purchased from Garagiste and disappointed as Im assuming this was library release from the winery I have one more bottle and hopefully this will be better
this is a special wine and absurd value. i;m going to be seeking this wine out everywhere i go.
verduzzo and tocai friuliano from colli orientali. 2 years on the lees in stainless. low intervention stuff. (paraphrasing from jancis, other sources say 100% tocai)
mineral driven finish and not totally dissimilar from really good aged white burgundy or chenin blanc.

Stunning. Waxy, elegant, floral, salty, an oxidized feel. Wished there was more. Acid still comes through on the backend, but round and lush upon first sip.

Oxidative with notes of baked apples, roasted walnuts, olives, brine and baked bread. Medium + body, medium + acidity. Medium + finish (15 seconds) whole still remaining nicely dry. Proof that Friulano can take some age.

Held up shockingly well. Acid is barely there, but the notes are quite complex. Ripe to bruised to baked red apples, marzipan, almond cake, olive oil, and beautiful phenolic bitterness.

Aged much more gracefully than one would expect, with remaining white fruit and white flower wedding with gorgeous mature, tertiary notes of caramel, saline, and anise. The 1997 Galea is an idiosyncratic orange wine that has developed surprisingly well. Acidity is a bit low at this point, however, so I would not hold these much longer.

One of my 2015 best tastings. Elegant white flowes and fruits, with hints of anise. Mineral-driven, sophisticate and tonic mouthfeel (delicate and rich at the same time). Shows great finesse. Ends with persistence and lenght. Continued to amaze me with each sip. Infinite. A real gem from Zanusso. Still gorgeous!

Enjoyable. We thought it would've gone off given the age but there is still some fruit there. Has some intriguing tertiary aromas. If I had any more I would drink them up soon.

Maybe should be a higher rating. This was a nice bottle...a new release from Kermit Lynch. They had two others - I will pick up 1 or 2 of each next visit.

Changing score now... needs time to open up. At 2 hrs now, acidity kicking in, with some tertiary flavors
