Pulled from cellar and stood up the am before drinking.Took to Italian restaurant. Bright red fruits, still fresh in the mouth and nose. Great paring with the Italian food tonight. Crowd favorite over the '07 Silvio Nardi Brunello.

Brick colored, whispy sediment, tight nose on opening. Black tea, red fruits and earth inform an attractive and elegant wine. A nicely aged brunello, not exciting but solid.

3/6, vg cork. Decanted 1/2 hr. Medium/deep garnet core, wide pale garnet rim. Nose shows spicy red fruit, floral notes, touch of nutmeg. Medium bodied, elegant, pure red fruit, florals, tea, very fine tannins, fresh acidity carrying a good length finish. Attractive and accomplished if not overly exciting.

Sadly my last bottle. Decanted for an hour. What a beauty, a classic Brunello and time has served it incredibly well. Grazie La Gerla...produzione e anno di alto qualita.

- Brick color - Definitely starting on the backhalf of life. Still tight after opening an hour before. Dense brickish colour aging well but jump on to the next bottle before its too late.

- Crimsom color and aromas of tar, cherry, moldy cork and sherry - A classic Brunello. Musty on opening opens after decanting for 45 minutes with scents of barn yard, forest. Chocolate, slight tar, some rich cherry develop. Now 2.5 hours later, smooth structure and some tannin present. Lovely wine with character, again a classic.

2/6, excellent cork. Decanted 1/2 hour. Medium/deep garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose is developed, spicy, quite autumnal with figgy notes. Medium/full bodied, spicy, underlying red fruit, fresh/vibrant acidity, savoury, just a touch of balsamic, decent length finish. Still enjoyable but perhaps not quite the best bottle.

Anniversary year of a favorite producer, so that's happy stuff. Medium (+) garnet with brickish edges, kinda veering towards tawny. Aromas of plums and black cherry, leather, black tea, soil, eucalyptus, green pepper, walnut, dark chocolate, and graphite. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of dark fruits, lemon, leather, dark red fruits, orange peel, and mineral. Fantastic tonight.

Medium garnet core, medium/wide pale garnet rim. Nose is intense, with spicy/sour red cherry, florals, touch of blood and earth. Medium/full bodied, classic sour red cherry fruit, soft, silky tannins, floral notes, vibrant acidity, nice savoury red fruit tang and a slight tickle of tannin on a very good length finish. Delicious, classic Brunello, this is very drinkable now but should be fine for some time yet.

Quite intense nose with sweet cherry, undergrowth and a rather unpleasant but hard to define note -- stewed or bad fruit/herbaceousness... Cleaned up somewhat with air. Med+ body, lowish acidity and tannins. Muted cherry fruit, touch of bitterness. Unimpressive. Med. length.

Consistent with previous bottle except this was a bit more savory and meaty than the last one. Enjoyed it quite a bit and wish I had bought a few more at the sale price paid.

Medium depth. Some black cherry on the nose. Medium to full bodied, a bit of heat. Not great clarity of fruit, but good complexity of green notes and lots of soil.

Popped and poured. Dark crimson color with some chunky sediment. Really nice right out of the gate with a great brunello nose of red cherry and currant along with some sweet tobacco, a bit of bloody meat and some chocolate and oak aromas. On the palate this wine was primarily chocolate covered cherries with some plum and red currant flavors along with some vanilla and toasty oak on the back end. Good acidity, medium tannins, smooth mouthfeel and a nice finish. Somewhat lighter than I expected and really enjoyable to drink right now so I do not see any reason to cellar this long term.

Lovely dark fruit on the nose with hints of earth and barnyard, more of the same on the palate, easy to sip and enjoy, medium body and medium finish. The bottle was opened six hours earlier.

Italy 2012 - Milan; 7/4/2012-7/5/2012 (Milan): From 375ml. Spicy and earthy nose with dark red fruits and hints of black licorice. Light to medium body, fine tannins and good acidity. Dark cherry and tobacco on the palate with a soft and lighter mouthfeel. This is showing more secondary characteristics than I would have thought considering its age. There is a bit of heat on the finish, which is really my only complaint. Drink or hold for 3-5+ years. Very good.

PnP. Pretty, classic Brunello nose--black cherry most-like. All plum, and persistent on the palate. I'd drink this now. 90-91 pts
