Tasted by MeMyself&I on 8/22/2009 & rated 89 points: Nice mouth feel, medium-bodied. Not as fruit forward as a younger SB. (2979 views)
Tasted by thefos on 3/7/2009: turned the corner by the time we got to it, but still drinkable, just a bit acidic (3083 views)
Tasted by ejca on 11/17/2007: Very goodk, still (3211 views)
Tasted by ejca on 10/8/2007: still good. (3320 views)
Tasted by LACERS on 9/22/2007 & rated 94 points: This was great a year and a half ago. And still is. I tried many 04 SB's which have faded, but this one had not lost anything in 2 years. Did a Vertical of the 04-06, and this won. Best fruit concentration, most viscous of the 3 as well. A wonderful bouquet of citrus, peaches, fig, lemon-grass, and floral notes. Full-bodied and viscous and rich fruit on the palate consisting of citrus, goosenberry, passion fruit, lemongrass, melon and hints of papaya and herb. Well-balanced, elegant and has some finesse to it, with a very long clean finish. Perfect amount of acidity and ripeness of fruit. The only category the 06 wins over the 04 is the 06 to me has a tiny bit more complexity to it with more noticable herb and earth/stone tones. (3782 views)
Tasted by jmh st louis on 7/18/2007 & rated 94 points: awesome peaches andlime (1736 views)
Tasted by GolferChris on 5/9/2007 & rated 93 points: Still awesome. Nicely balanced fruit, acidity and a crisp, clean finish. One of our favorite Napa SB's. (1864 views)
Tasted by GolferChris on 12/24/2006 & rated 94 points: A great California Sauvignon Blanc. This wine possesses tremendous aromas of white peach, tropical fruit, lemongrass, grapefruit and straw. Rich, plush and elegant in the mouth. Great balance of fruit (grapefruit, melon, white peach, meyer lemon and orange zes) and acidity. A very long clean finish. Good glass after glass. (1976 views)
Tasted by Tom_B on 9/26/2006 & rated 91 points: This wine is light in color, with a slightly green/straw hue, but bordering on brilliant. Fresh tropical fruit on the nose with a bit of grass, lemon cream. Light bodied, but crisp and clean. (872 views)
Tasted by LACERS on 8/4/2006 & rated 94 points: A wonderful bouquet of citrus, peaches, fig, lemon-grass, and floral notes. Full-bodied and viscous and rich fruit on the palate consisting of citrus, grapefruit, goosenberry, passion fruit, lemon, melon and hints of spice. Well-balanced, elegant and has some finesse to it, with a very long clean finish. Perfect amount of acidity and ripeness of fruit. Good concentration and not tart at all. One of the best Sauvignon Blancs I ever tried! (2424 views)
Tasted by borneman on 7/22/2006 & rated 90 points: one of our favorite SB's. Stone fruit flavors - well balanced. (2246 views)
Tasted by flashvictor on 5/9/2006 & rated 92 points: Pale yellow green color gives way to a nose of lemon grass and grapefruit. The body is dominated by an array of citrus fruits backed by refreshing acidic minerality. I think the Spectator hit this one correctly giving it 92. (2511 views)
Tasted by TRairden on 4/19/2006 & rated 93 points: Most engaging, enjoyable sauvignon blanc I've had-- and I drink sauv blanc in preference to chard. Subtly rich pale yellow-gold color, lively nose of very ripe peach and date; palate adds nectarine and lively, crisp acid suggesting spritz in the long finish. (2787 views)
Tasted by ejca on 2/5/2006: very good wine, seems to be getting better, citrus notes, even better the second day. (2550 views)
Tasted by borneman on 9/3/2005 & rated 92 points: Love this wine. Complex nose and flavors of stone fruits and lemon zest. Long finish. Best white of the summer? (3365 views)
Tasted by borneman on 7/31/2005 & rated 90 points: Lemon and grass nose followed by grapefruit and hay palate. Long finish of bitter citrus peel. (3138 views)

Varietal Character

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
