 Tasted by drlang946 on 7/12/2019 & rated 90 points: Enjoyable (1325 views)
Tasted by Justinneal654 on 6/22/2018 & rated 90 points: Light melon notes on the nose along with some solid citrus zest, feels more lime. Clean mouthfeel, a little buttery and smooth that shows nicely mid palate. Early flavors are grapefruit, unripe peaches and green apple. Finish has a zing of acidity. A bit of alcohol that seems misplaced which takes away from the experience. The peach feels a little closer to ripe on the finish although it is a bit confusing in the midst of the alcohol hints.

I am left a few moments later with an essence of fruit that is quite nice. Savoring the final aromatics is a nice way to complete the experience. (1691 views)
Tasted by twwatson100 on 5/26/2018 & rated 90 points: It is like a pear in a glass! Very refreshing and just right for drinking now. (1739 views)
Tasted by pincheyoyo on 3/4/2017 & rated 92 points: Peaches ip front, grapeftuit in the back (2764 views)
Tasted by adrenalin112 on 3/2/2017 & rated 90 points: Almost sparkling in the glass, a buttery, popcorn, woody funk on the nose. But a very pleasant, peach, & crisp pear on the palate. Drinking very well now. (2563 views)
Tasted by ScottMN on 2/9/2017 & rated 91 points: One of the better Napa s.b.'s (1707 views)
Tasted by MAXIMUM SATISFACTION on 2/4/2017 & rated 88 points: Less vibrant and crisp than the 2013. Creamy melon, cheese curd, and bitter grassiness. Pretty basic but good. (1422 views)
Tasted by ONEFIVE on 12/13/2016: White Bordeaux style.
Fuller and more complex than the average Napa SB.
Love the versatility of this wine. (1442 views)
Tasted by Neecies on 11/23/2016 & rated 84 points: Cheese and green apple nose with concentrated flavors of grass, green apple, lemon grass, and good acidity. But there's a tad of RS here which gangs up with the 14.7% alcohol for a cloying, bittersweet finish. (688 views)
Tasted by markcic on 11/13/2016 & rated 89 points: At Avra Estorio in NYC, Light yellow in color, the palate was grass, green apple and a touch of tangerine. A nice finish. Went well with the grilled fish it was served with. (741 views)
Tasted by Winowhyno on 10/5/2016 & rated 86 points: Wife says not her favorite (941 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 7/23/2016 & rated 90 points: Nose of grapefruit, tangerine and fresh cut grass. This is a heavier Sauvignon Blanc and closer in style to the Bevan is had last year. Notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon and touch of blood orange. Was perfect in a 90 degree heat. (1245 views)
Tasted by msuwine on 6/21/2016 & rated 87 points: A sweet, grassy, and somewhat heavy Sauvignon Blanc - none of it in a good way. Light yellow in color, heavy in body (for a SB), and nose of wet grass and lime. Tastes of grapefruit, melon, and vanilla, with a finish that is both syrupy and jumpy in acidity. 14.7% alcohol. Not expensive, but not impressive, either. (1546 views)
Tasted by Woodbridge Brad on 5/16/2016 & rated 87 points: Nice intensity of grassy-citrus flavors with a slightly flat and slightly sweet balance. Very slightly alcoholic, this is a decent bottle, although not much of a value at $25. Chilled the sweetness is just background and there is enough acidity for most people, was popular at a gathering. Not a wine I would age. (1240 views)
Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 4/30/2016 & rated 91 points: This pale yellow wine is a blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Sémillon and 3% Sauvignon Vert. Flaunting aromas of orange zest, melon, jasmine and Asian spices, it is light-bodied, fresh and seamlessly alcoholic (14.7%). The flavors mirror the nose and build on the mid-palate. Long and crisp on the back end, this lithe white wine should be at its best over the next 2-3 years. Drink now-2019. (535 views)
Tasted by hawkvin on 4/23/2016 & rated 89 points: Nice smooth SB. Grass, melon and pineapple. Moderate finish. (1327 views)
Tasted by csimm on 3/25/2016 & rated 88 points: Lighter notes of pineapple, apple, lemongrass, and flint/chert. Not especially complex or gleaming with any sort of notable flavor depth. A fine drink for a hot spring day in Napa Valley, but nothing I'd seek out or go back for. Unfortunately a bit lackluster compared to other SBs out there with similar price-points.

Drink now. 88 points at best. (2524 views)
Tasted by Boog2222 on 3/24/2016 & rated 89 points: Nice smooth sav blanc, not very complex (1250 views)
Tasted by nm10 on 1/10/2016 & rated 88 points: At the winery. Grassy, smokey notes. Very nice for someone who generally doesn't like sauv blanc. (1071 views)
Tasted by KeithSurg on 11/9/2015 & rated 91 points: Tropical nose of pineapple and passion fruit. Melon and sweet apple on the palate, with a richness that is nicely balanced with fresh lemon acidity. Easy to drink. Long and consistent finish for a SB. (1113 views)
Tasted by Coachron13 on 9/27/2015 & rated 88 points: A solid, while not great, SB. Very tangy tropical melon on the palate. Somewhat acidic, but with an interesting long finish, guessing that's from the 12% semillon in it. Pretty reasonable QPR given that it's a $20 bottle. (945 views)
Tasted by Al Doughty on 7/12/2015 & rated 91 points: Lovely mixture of spring flowers, ripe melon and mango on the nose, underscored by more herbal notes of mint and thyme. The palate is full bodied and packed with dense flavors of pineapple, tangerine and Braeburn apple along with an intriguing caramel note and a touch of bitterness to even out the sweetness of the fruit. Although it is rather low in acidity for a sauvignon blanc, it carries it's weight very well and does not come across as too heavy. Impressive in length and dangerously drinkable. (1084 views)

Sauvignon Blanc

Varietal Character

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
