Tasted by drlang946 on 6/24/2019 & rated 90 points: The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It tastes lightly of melon, grapefruit and mineral. The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. (950 views)
Tasted by cos65 on 4/7/2019: Simple light slightly grapefruit flavors without too much fanfare.
Simple and tasty without being too polarizing

Tasted by MAXIMUM SATISFACTION on 2/1/2017 & rated 89 points: Full bodied. Creamy melon and grassy notes. Granite on the nose. Potency is starting to fade but still has a few more years to go. (1772 views)
Tasted by Chemming on 1/29/2017 & rated 90 points: Loved this, most full bodied SB I've had in a long while, Nicky without being over Kales or overly sweet. (1484 views)
Tasted by Chemming on 9/19/2016 & rated 91 points: Very well balanced depth. Fresh and long at the same time. (1112 views)
Tasted by PJHaveron on 7/17/2016 & rated 91 points: Very crisp and refreshing - holding up very nicely for a 2013 at this stage. Tons of melon, citrus and grapefruit on the nose and lovely finish. Really nice drinking at a summer BBQ. (1213 views)
Tasted by MAXIMUM SATISFACTION on 7/3/2016 & rated 90 points: Full bodied with creamy melon, grapefruit, and grassy notes. Crisp and refreshing. (1311 views)
Tasted by yelnak on 6/25/2016 & rated 89 points: Melon and pear on the nose, with citrus/grapefruit and floral notes. On the attack green apple accentuates the long finishing grapefruit backbone with touch of leechi and tar oil note. Good acidity throughout. (702 views)
Tasted by wconnolly on 5/21/2016 & rated 89 points: Still my favorite Sauvignon Blanc. Crisp, flavors of grapefruit, melon and peach. The right amount of acidity offers a little backbone. Very nice bottle of wine. (770 views)
Tasted by Rich Storm on 4/16/2016 & rated 90 points: - Yellow color and aromas of grapefruit, apricot and apple. It's in total harmony and has flavours of cut green grass, grapefruit and peach with a medium/full body. Polished texture with a medium finish. (705 views)
Tasted by wconnolly on 3/24/2016 & rated 89 points: Delicious as always. A bit darker than pale straw, limited nose but bursting flavors of grapefruit. Lemon and a bit of pear. (599 views)
Tasted by cos65 on 11/22/2015: Lightly zesty grapefruit flavors. Finishes a bit short and not as appealing as the Naudet Sancerre tasted along side, but fine enough (884 views)
Tasted by Mike Kopanski on 9/12/2015 & rated 91 points: This is the kind of Sauvignon Blanc that earns 91 points. The first sniff tells you this is super serious Sauvignon Blanc. There are aromas of honey baked apple, white flowers, citrus, and grass. Small amounts of barrel fermentation, and large amounts of generous lees stirring bring a healthy viscosity and mouth feel. Absolutely no sweetness. Full malic acid crispness. A hint of apricot and tangerine with the lemon, gooseberry, grapefruit, pineapple, and ripe pear. Delightfully seamless. (909 views)
Tasted by Vasily on 7/8/2015: Clear, bright, straw. Pineapple, grapefruit, and some spice. Nicely balanced. Crisp finish. Excellent with red snapper. (993 views)
Tasted by smphelps on 3/15/2015 & rated 87 points: Light pale gold. Nose tinged with green grass, lemons, bean sprouts. A slight spritz. Pleasant lemon/lime tartness, but relatively straightforward and direct. Medium finish with more grapefruit than lemon. (1217 views)
Tasted by Frank_A_M on 2/21/2015 & rated 88 points: Peach and fruit on the front end. Nice finish. (1173 views)
Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 2/15/2015 flawed bottle: Sadly, this particular bottle was badly corked. (1151 views)
Tasted by suarezd on 12/15/2014 & rated 89 points: Peach and stone fruits with a touch of citrus at the end. Long evolving palate. (1077 views)
Tasted by mdmcgonigal on 10/25/2014 & rated 88 points: Winery tasting. Very grassy, crisp nose. Grassy flavors and apple. Tart, reminiscent of New Zealand. (1068 views)
Tasted by Loren Sonkin on 10/19/2014 & rated 89 points: Dinner with Friends (Shaker Square): $42 off the list at Fire. It took about 20 minutes to open as it warmed. The nose is slightly grassy with a bit of tropical fruits and lemons. Nice, slightly oily texture. Nice balance. Good fruit on the palate. Solid finish. Reasonably food friendly. Very good if not great. (1260 views)
Tasted by RajivAyyangar on 7/4/2014 & rated 90 points: First trip to Napa! - Sinskey and Cliff Lede (Napa, CA): Great nose! Sweet grapefruit, tomato, oregano. In the mouth, high rippling acid. Beautiful. 9- (1463 views)
Tasted by djinc01 on 4/26/2014 & rated 89 points: Nice creamy finish (1161 views)

Varietal Character

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
