  Timuquana BYO (TCC): Haven’t had many old Spanish cabs and so fun to get to try this. Felt like it got a bit overshadowed with some of the others but still a nice wine. Well structured, young-ish but a lot of the flavor is more in the secondary style.

  Medium red with clear edges. Very Bordeaux nose, hardwood floor dust, cedar, tobacco and a little bit of cassis. Medium weight flavours of earthy red fruit and a long dry finish. Still going strong.

  De color rubí rojizo de medio cuerpo, claro, brillante, algo turbio -granulado- por un finísimo precipitado (guardado en posición vertical hasta depositarse en la base de la botella y decantado posteriormente). Reflejos anaranjados y cobrizos, borde amplio, atejado.
  
  Aromas de buena intensidad, elegante, clásico, muy serio. Asoman notas de hoja de habano, cuero viejo, mucha fruta negra (cerezas picotas, arándanos en sazón, frambuesas negras) seguidas de apuntes de regaliz Zara y un deje asilvestrado a pimiento escalivado, anises e hinojo. Varietal y muy mediterráneo. Al respirar y ganar en temperatura asoman notas licorosas, más sensación de fruta en confitura y un fondo especiado y ahumado de calidad, con maderas cremosas. Sin síntomas de fatiga ni reducción excesiva, como nos ha sucedido con algunos Gran Coronas Etiqueta Negra del mismo periodo.
  
  En boca es acompotado y maduro, sedoso, con taninos finos y elegantes. Mantiene una correcta acidez que lo hace muy grato y bebible aunque todo indica que no va a seguir evolucionando a mejor si lo damos unos años más de guarda en botella. Redondo, integrado, con fruta negra reducida, especias, y un deje licoroso algo marcado.

  80% cabernet sauvignon, 20% cariñena, cabernet franc y tempranillo - 12.5% vol.
  Las uvas proceden exclusivamente de un solo viñedo. Fermentación en cubas de acero inoxidable a temperatura controlada. Posterior crianza en barricas nuevas de roble americano y francés durante 6 meses. Tras ser trasegado el vino continuó su envejecimiento en barricas de segundo o tercer año hasta el momento de su embotellado a finales de 1973.

  8 Vintages of Torres (Joe's Orinda, Ca.): Tasting 8 Torres mostly Black Label. Started with a great bottle bouquet that turned into a slightly veggie mouth with light but solid fruit that left a medium finish and great aftertaste. My #1 , Group #8.
