Auswine - 90s and earlier tasting: Blind. Meaty, graphite, plum, vanilla and blueberry. Rather sweet fruit on the palate, there is a nice savoury element as well that gives it a bit more interest. Drink now.

This vintage is still holding in, at least in my cellar. We dont expect more out of this wine from here. Still, a fine return on investment. im sipping this with a smile

We had a bottle of this vintage with roast lamb. Its drinking now nicely (to my taste) and is rather mellow. Certainly this vintage is not gone - but we're not sure it will get better.

Some lightening of colour at the rim – mid red shot with bricking. A chocolate/mulberry nose leads to a medium-weight palate, with tannins softened out but fruit still in the background. Reasonable to conclude that 92 was not a great year. No hint of unripeness, but seems the fruit was really worked hard to extract as much as possible. Something of a doughnut wine, with fading fruit on the front palate, acid on the sides of the mouth, and a little astringency at the back. Fair but no more than that.
