Tasted an hour after opening, didn't decant. Capsule and cork in great nick. Medium garnet in the glass with pale ruby edging, indicative of age. Lovely black fruits, liquorice, and spicy peppers on the nose. The taste shows a very integrated dark fruit profile, with menthol dominating the mid-palate. Lower acidity levels but with round, soft tannins. Medium-length finish with some tar and liquorice. Interesting to drink this 30-year-old wine alongside more recent vintages, showcasing the relative freshness and age-worthiness of Grosset Gaia.

It has been about 4 years since last tasted and this time rated slightly higher. Medium yellow almost gold in the glass still looking youthful. Aroma is filled with melon limes underpinned by a sutble classic petrol TDN note that adds some depth and interest. Shows a refined palate with medium acidity, some chalky minerality and smoky undertones. Good weight with a long dry finish. We are just so spoilt with Clare valley dry rieslings in Australia. Bargain!

Deep ruby with some edging in the glass. Sampled two hours after opening. On the nose getting lovely vibrant and fresh red and dark fruits, baking spice and vanilla. Tasting shows a very concentrated dark fruit profile of plums, blackberries with chocolate, nutmeg and leather. Tannins have softened although very present in the finish and with tar and earthy greenness dimensions coming through. Check again in 3-5 years.
