2005 Shirvington Cabernet Sauvignon

Day 1: Cork crumbled which is never good but not always a death sentence. While this is not at the level of the bottle pre Peter Gabriel concert back in October this is solid. Menthol, iodine, blueberries, dark cherry, coffee beans and tar. Medium finish. Glad I bought 2 of these on WineBid but drink them up if you have them. 92 points
Day 2: Still drinkable but a drink immediately wine.
Recommendation: Glad I bought this purchase as one was amazing and this bottle still solid for $45 with shipping.

Day 1: One of the leading experts in the world on Reynvaan this delivers again. Black olives, tar, blueberries, spice, dried meats and exotic spices. Excellent. 94 points
Day 2: A touch less intense on day 2. Stone, tar, blueberries, sour cherry, dried meats, olives and white pepper. Still solid but drink up on day 2 for sure. 92 points
Recommendation: These will drink well through 2027.

2016 Carlisle Petite Sirah Sonoma County

Day 1: Never been much of a fan of Carlisle and this wine is well below average. Earth, minerals, red currants and dried flowers. Short finish and low levels of acidity. Poorly made wine that has not aged well. 80 points
Day 2: Water downed wine. Spice, earth, twigs, light currants and dust. Short finish. Lacks concentration and low acidity levels. Not a fan. Will try over 4 days to see if any improvement but not expecting much here. 80 points
