11/17/2020 6:37:00 PM - Hi JMCMCHI, I am formerly from Issaquah but now in VA suburbs of DC. Kept the exact ones you identified (l'ecole, long shadows, garagiste & full pull). See your comments on most of my wines and usually agree with your comments. Good to be friends. Cheers,

4/1/2020 6:34:00 AM - Thank you for your message! I agree, there is a lot to like about German Spätburgunder nowadays. My favourite producers include Hanspeter Ziereisen, Bernhard Huber and Karl H. Johner from Baden, Rudolf Fürst from Franken and Knipser from Pfalz, but there are quite a few other producers that would be worth mentioning. And it is a matter of preference, of course. Bernhard Huber seeks to make Burgundy-style wines and harvests very early. If you like fuller styles Meyer-Näkel would be a better place to look. I’ll give you my email address by posting a comment and deleting it afterwards, please reach out if you’d like to discuss in more detail. And let me know if you ever come to the Frankfurt area in Germany and we’ll pop a few older Spätburgunders!

After reading through a bunch of reviews decided to follow; looking forward to seeing what you're drinking in 2019 and beyond.

9/29/2018 2:59:00 PM - Thanks for the message! We do love Michael Savage's CF and have tried them all. :) Amazing that someone can make such high quality wines and doesn't charge an arm and a leg for them!

1/4/2018 4:55:00 PM - 08 was a hot year, high sugar and alcohol. Those that picked slightly early were rewarded, although there are those that probably were left to hang a little too later, overextracted, jammy, hitting drinking window now. 05's I quite like, most of mine drinking very well know. 09's I dont have many or much experience on, with 2010 being outstanding I haven't picked many 09's up.

1/4/2018 4:25:00 PM - Thanks for the message. Barneys Block is a great regional expression. Just remember 07 was probably the worst vintage that decade across South Australia

11/17/2017 3:48:00 PM - I know, Australia is insane for wine - take the European price and add about 110%. If I want to buy something flash it's cheaper to fly to New Zealand for the weekend, buy three bottles, and then bring them back...fruit loop! cheers, chatters

4/29/2017 12:59:00 AM - Enjoy your visit in Australia. I was in Australia and New Zealand in 2013 and was surprised by the high quality terroir wines which have really started to make their mark. Enjoy!

1/22/2017 4:12:00 PM - Indeed it will be! They said judging by the success of it that they'll do it again next year. I'll defo go if they do. cheers, chatters.
