Well-made, but not that interesting. The wine is medium/full-bodied and fully mature, the smoky blackberries are ripe, the tannins are round, but it just doesn't go as far as the Reserve on the nose or palate.

Drinking very well. Classic aged CALIFORNIA Cabernet. Still lots of power, subdued but rich black fruits, currant, blackberry, leather. Full palate with black fruits and balanced tannin and acidity. Still fresh / will last another 5+ years.

Found a bottle in he cellar I lost track of!!! Wonderful New Years present, this one reminds me of the first bottle I had. Wonderful balance, holding on for dear life but enough fruit to dazzle the tongue. Acid and fruit in great balance. So glad the last bottle seems to be the best condition.

Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery - Aubert, Shafer, Bevan, Sea Smoke, Togni, and more... (Calistoga): Two Beringer Chabots served side-by-side: 1991 & 1994. Not too much in the flavor department from either one beyond some vanilla cherry water/kirsch and wood notes. Flat and bland on the attack. Round and faded on the finish. Fairly hollow mid-palate.

Medium red with light edges. Very minty plum and black cherry nose. Light intensity. Tasty dark fruit flavours and a very resolved finish.
Drink up.
