Faded red cherry, strawberry, and cranberry fruit is contrasted by earth, eucalyptus, and menthol flavors. Tannin is fully integrated, wine is silky smooth. It just lacks vibrancy and energy, feels a bit flat.
Mature, drink now -2025.

This is why we cellar wines. This was my first bottle in a year and a half, and it’s been over eight years since I opened my first one. After some initial promise back in 2012, it went through a period of being less exciting - even a little disappointing - but has emerged and is showing quite well at this point. It’s a classic Napa Cabernet, with lovely blackcurrant, gravel, and black coffee notes, good structure, and a clean if someone clipped finish. It showed best after about an hour in the decanter, and drank well for the first three hours before it started to fade a bit. I would drink over the next 2 to 3 years, if I had more in the cellar.

Almost three years since my last bottle. This is still a good cab, but I was expecting more improvement by now, 10+ years post-vintage. Medium-to-full bodied, with dark red fruits and a dried herbal note leading to a clean but somewhat short finish. This doesn’t rank up with the better vintages of Chabot Vineyard for me.

PnP. Bright cherries, some eucalyptus and an overall slightly acidic leaning wine. It is sweet strawberry and bing cherry held back slightly by that acidic mouthfeel. With that said I kind of liked it. It's finish had some graphite and that over riding sweetness of Berry and cherry.
