  • Opened my last remaining body along with a 1982 Beringer Reserve Cab. Both were delicious, both continued to intensify in fruit in the glass while also becoming more supple. Could easily last another 5 years. All agree the Chabot Vineyard was the favorite of the 2.

  • We received two bottles - one with a depressed cork and one with a proud cork. This was the depressed cork wine - - and was awesome. This wine has just about everything you could ever want - it was earthy with a very pungent aged blackberry nose. The wine on the palate was softer than this, but displayed an age blackberry nose with a raisin note. The wine finished rather silky - LOTS of sediment on the bottle and in the final pour. This wine is over the hill, but this bottle still had a few years of life left in it.

  • Enjoyed tonight pre-dinner with some aged cheeses. This wine was a bit of a curve ball. Cork was slightly proud and came out about 75 percent intact - the remaining 25 percent was harder to get out since I left my Butler's knife at home. Cork was perfect with about 2mm of even cork bleed all the way around. Poured a chocolate brown with red undertones into the decanter - was not cloudy. The nose was consistent with an aged wine that had a lot of plum and raisin. The palate was plum and raisin too with a tart finish and quite a bit of earth. Very interesting wine - was not the favorite of the night. This wine has aged beautifully, but if you have this in your cellar it's time to start drinking up. Past prime, but still good.

  • LAYERS OF DEEP FRUIT IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR. SOFT BUT STILL SHOWING SOME TANNIN. BLACKBERRIES, LEATHER, COFFEE. NICE COMPLEXITY AND A LONG FINISH.
