From Magnum. Solid fill. Silt sediment coating half the bottle with another tablespoon at the bottom. Ruby color, some bricking. This bottle was at the end of its drinking window but still had good ripe fruit showing, black cherry, blackberry some red fruits with some cedar, dried herbs and hints of Eucalyptus. Nearly silky smooth with good food friendly acidity.

From Magnum. Perfect cork and fill. Only modest bricking in the color. Blackberries and Cherry cola flavors with hints of eucalyptus, every interesting and enjoyable. Nearly silky smooth with a long finish. An extra point for its ageworthiness and unique and memorable flavor profile. This Magnum easily had another 5 year of peak left in it.

1991 California Cabernets, Part 5 (Tom's House, Palo Alto): Good, manure quality, not overwhelming, very old-world green and eucalyptus; solid palate with residual hints of fruit, acidity that stands out in a fresh way. Overall nice but not remarkable. My #5, group's #3.

Need to drink now. It's past its peak, but still paired wonderfully w/ veal chop and cognac mushrooms. Brownish red, mutliple layers and still has a little fruit. Extremely smoot with med. finish. Only decanted for 15 minutes with no improvement over the next 90 minutes.

1991 California Cabernet Retrospective (Tom's house in Palo Alto, California): Tasted blind - Big viscous legs. Generous leather aromas. Resolved tannins. A hint of sulfur smell appeared after an hour in the glass.
