Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Bricking around the edge with a garnet core.
Plum, raisin, dried fruit and some earth, leather and spice notes.
Nice texture on the palate with a solid amount of fruit and decent length through the finish. Theres a bit of bitter tannin/acidity on the mid palate. Other than that this is drinking great for its age. I wouldn’t wait any longer to open it if you have any left. A testament to the Stags Leap District and it’s aging capability. The modern expression of this site is Cliff Lede Poetry.

  • A lot of wines last night, so I'll do my best on this. Nose is slightly funky, barnyardish, old Cab smell. Dank olives, cedar. Palate is surprisingly spry for a 20year old wine of this pedigree. Very nice to sip with the meal. Not a blockbuster, but another nice showing. I think we all agreed the '89 showed a little better last winter.
