Cork disintegrated when trying to open. Lively medium body with bright acids and fruit still, yet showing some meaty secondary savor is as well. Tasty. With more air, developed a eucalyptus, menthol and braised prune element which was balanced well by the fruit and acids. Nice offering at this age!

Opened for a potluck potpourri. Very dark, cork crumbled during open. Lively and brooding at the same time. Plummy, fresh black cherry, mature but not overly acidic or pruny. Secondary notes in the black fruits and woody elements. Fine fruit, length and structure. Very nice 17 year old.

Opened with beef stew dinner. Dark brick red, full bodied, showing aromatic qualities of white pepper, plum and oak cask. Still nice fruit attack, with a grainy spicy and mature profile of blackberry and plum. Either slight effervescance or the spicy pepper quality up front. Day two + the fruit has ripened and jammed out, showing some youth and vibrancy still. Mature flavors yes, but the sweetness is there in spades.

Cellar release purchase from c2004. Mid-red, soft and spicy on the nose, but none of the confectionery you might expect - a very good wine and a surprise.
