Lovely floral aromas, bright and fresh! Dark red in the glass with translucent edges. Tannins are soft, smooth and rounded. Acidity is reserved. Dark red fruit flavors are followed by a medium finish.

The wine has been stored under ideal conditions. It still shows a good colour and looks quite young. I opened the cap early but closed it again so it didn’t get much air. Once opened and poured (3 hours later), the dark fruit and spice on the nose took time to develop fully. The palate was mature and showed excellent fruit - plums and damsons, as before, but also red and black berries including loganberries and mulberries. Soft, totally integrated tannins were balanced by juicy acidity. Once again, it showed spicy complexity and power but with great elegance and finesse. Our last bottle. I’m sure this wine would have lasted a few years longer but we could not resist trying it now. It evolved beautifully in the glass over 3-4 hours. Stunning wine.

November 27, 2021. Gift from Steven Hands January 2018. Drank from Bin North 10 with kids, Phil, Liz, Sean, Kim and David. Rhone blend, Grenache, shiraz and Mourvèdre. Cork nose. Dark purple. Dry chalk medium body oak dry plum. Past prime but nice mature wine. 6/10.

Took a while to open up so would recommend a fairly long decant before consumption. Concentrated fruits, spice, incense and reasonably robust tannin, it had fair degree of depth and structure to make this a very enjoyable wine. Can go a fair bit further as it has the acidity and structure to support.
Drink now or 8+ years.

A blend of 55% Grenache, 38% Shiraz and 7% Mourvèdre. Dark garnet core with slight brick red hue. Initial red fruited nose opens up to show bramble fruits, black cherries, red berries along with sweet earth, stew fruits and spices. Soft and supple entry, it has a juicy palate with plenty of peppery spice, follow by blackberries, dark plums and raspberry intermix with earth and mocha. Intensity gradually build up lead to ripe chewy tannins and long lingering finish. Drinking very nicely and slow evolves over the night.
