This is one of my truly favorite Australian bottlings that has only improved and become more delicate and subtle with age. Hints of eucalyptus, mint, dark cherry, satin finish. Fragrant on the nose, and long on the palate.

Nose of black fruit and spice, leaning more toward baking spices. Good balance in the rich mouth. Sweet oak tannins in the finish. Not particularly complex, but nicely balanced. Definitely new world in character.

Plummy and slightly sweet soft tannins now and still loads of fruit good length and drinking well glad I waited this long! Great Father's Day drink with lamb leg!

Purple garnet in glass, somewhat cloudy. Gentle farmyard funk, chook poo, soft herbal garrigue, savoury, lifted with dark berry perfume, cassis and leafy thyme. Seductive. Tall acidity, velvet dark fruits, dark florals, graphite, pencil shavings, and a focused core of beefy umami sweetness, meaty funk, and black-tea sweetness. Finishing textural, velvety tannins, almost lacy, transparent with some soft shrubby stems, moist gravel, mandarin peel and long minty eucalypt and hints licorice sweetness. Easy complexity, effortless balance. Certainly matured, tertiary characters, but i was expecting more fragile structure, only to be pleasantly surprised at how intact it is from my last tasting 3 years ago, having survived shipping Syd-Sg one year ago. Last bottle, alas.
