Powerful barnyard, cognac and plummy aromas on first pour. Settles with swirling and air. Fragrant. Reddish brown in the glass. Bright red fruit flavors with great acidity. Tannins are smooth and supple. Rounded and soft. Lovely.

Brought to a restaurant, decanted, followed over 90 minutes; four on the bottle. At first sip, it seemed that this might already be falling off. However, after time in the glass and some swirling, this opened up beautifully. Along with the usual temperate-climate red fruit in GSM blend, there were flavors of guava and passion fruit. Lovely wine, and even better than I expected it to be based on my other three bottles. Drink soon just the same, but do give it an hour or so of air.

Brought this to a wine dinner at Tonny's Restaurant last night. Theme of the night: New World blends.
Wine was expressive and impressive. At 11 years of age, the wine does not have the energy or willfulness of the younger wines. Notes of ripe plums, mocha and leather were evident in the full bodied wine.
Well structured, well balanced and drinking very well at this stage. Finish is a little short. Good, but not great.
