  • Consumed on 9/6/2022. Opened for a friends birthday. Mature. Honeyed, waxy, still had sharp acidity. Stone fruit driven with lift of mineral quality.

  • Opened by AllRed who liked this better than me. I previously had the 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2002 vintages of this wine and this was definitely a step behind the 2000 and 2002. I thought this was showing it's age at 13 years old. Light yellow color. The acidity was on the softer side. Notes of limes, melons and chamomile. Drink now. 90 points.

  • Pale straw yellow color- I would not think this was 13 years old based upon appearance alone. Notes of citrus, melon and mineral with a buttery quality as well. Soft acidity, with melon fruit on the palate. Lovely, and if this bottle is representative, I would suggest this is at peak, with perhaps another year, two at most, before decline. 92+ pts.

  • Drank over a Peranakan meal with B+S, this was just lovely. Drinking beautifully, and almost agelessly - it did not feel all that much older than a bottle I had 10 years back. The nose had a bit of ripe sweetness to it, showing notes for cream, stone fruits, sweet lemons and the very ripest gooseberries, all laced with a touch of lemon zest and a little lining of stony mineral. Could well have been a ripe Chablis Grand Cru on that nose, if not for just an edge of Sauvignon Blanc green here and there. The palate was just lovely. Still stunningly young and fresh, it had effortlessly powerful notes of fleshy pears and peach and green apples, all floating over a sweeter bed of lemon meringue pie. What kept this so impressive though was a tremendous spine of citrusy acidity and stony mineral that ran through all that powerful fruit and into a wonderfully long, fresh, defined finish, with just a final squeeze of lemon and a crunch of green pairs layered over bits of mineral and spice. Such a lovely food-friendly wine. Drinking beautifully now, but this was all but ageless. With its depth and balance, this can age for a long time more yet.

  • Year-End Wine Dinner @ GWC!: Brought this tonight. Fascinating from the start with barley, wheat and malt notes. Nice acidity and very vibrant. Developed secondaries of citrus and mint leaves. Don't think I have ever tried a sauv blanc like this before. Very interesting! Ok to open now. 93/94
