  Light pale red brick colour throughout not concentrated in the centre.The nose is striking with brambly raspberry and spiced herbs. The mouthfeel is light packed with red fruit and slightly stoney austere pinotesque, hints of pepper with high acidity and good length in balance. A wonderful pinot that has been crafted sympathetically not at all new world style very burgundian without the damp forest! I am enjoying this with organic somerset brie.
  Drinking now but will last for 3+ years.

On the palate, however, there is a fruit-sweetness and a roundness to the tannins that is unmistakably New World. The overall character reminded me a lot of some leaner Cali Pinots that are grown in sandy soils- lithe, feminine tannin; an herbal character running towards red veggies such as beet and tomato; a sauvage/animal fur note; and just-ripe red fruits such as cranberry and strawberry. The finish is quite long, emphasizing the earthy/mushroom character of the wine. Wonderful balance overall. This is drinking right in its window now, and would be killer with some Peking duck!
