  My experience in drinking this wine was very different than the previous review (which admittedly is 6 yrs old). I usually associate this producer with heavily oaked wines (which I like) but this one tasted different. Though the abundance of oak is still apparent, this wine has surprisingly evolved in a very Burgundian style, with a beautiful burnt nose with notes of caramel, and walnuts with a nice rounded finish. The wine is dark yellow and cloudy, so it was likely not intended to last this long, but I think it still have perhaps 3-5 years left (though definitely not 10). This reliable producer has shown in can produce fruit forward wines that have aged in a very interesting trajectory.

  But this bottle was completely dominated by the oak and butter flavors -- there is no fruit (left?) and it was, for me at least, barely drinkable. Some fellow tasters, who like the buttery, oaky chards thought it was OK, but not great.

  This wine is cloudy, with a beautiful nose of apple butterscotch. Some pear. Rich, buttery, vanilla flavors, spicy, ? nutmeg. long finish.
