  i didn't expect anything given the disastrous vintage, and the time this wine has spent in the bottle. the cork is wet up to the top. the wine is brick red with 3mm flare on the rim and finely grained black sediment. in the glass at first a nose of silage and poopy diaper. this is gradually blowing off with time. what stays are weedy and microbiological aromata, dried red fruit, musk, tar, menthol. palate: gentle, wonderful balance, tannins are velvety, long finish (20 Caudalie). quite a surprise and tremendously interesting.
