  • Popped and poured (into Riedel). COLOR: Deep, dark purple. The color of blood. NOSE: Interesting. Cigar smoke. Blackerries. Maybe some leather. TASTE: A bit acidic, but I expect that of a Sangiovese. Not as complex as the last one. Non-descript dark red fruits. Tannic, but that was cut by meat sauce. It paired well. OVERALL: Daily drinker. Nothing fabulous. Decent QPR. (4+11+17+7)

  • Popped and poured and rank over two days. COLOR: Deep ruby, good clarity. No sediment. NOSE: Not very expressive - even over time and with warming the glass a bit in my hands. Maybe some fruit. TASTE: This definitely evolved. Began very tannic and fruity. Tart or sour cherries, some vegetal, and leather evolved into a fantastic cherry and chocolate over an hour or two. This persisted the second night. It was slightly acidic for the flavors it was giving, but it was still wonderful. Finish was long and smooth. OVERALL: This was great for sipping or drinking with dinner. I tried it with pasta bolognese and with burgers and much preferred the latter pairing. (4+10+17+7)

  • Very supple and uneventful sangiovese wine, with nice plum notes, and good acidity, very suitable for pairing with pasta and tomato sauce. Some structure. Good. Not more than that.
