I am scoring this as 'Excellent' but just below the 2020 version, based on where the wine is at now. Longer term I think this wine could head a few points higher. The 2019 vintage in most parts of Australia produced wines with considerable structure and power, where 2020 tended to produce slightly more open, elegant wines and so it is with the D'Arry's Original.
On day 3 this starts to open up more, but the Grenache is a little deeper in the mix than the 2020. Shiraz dominates, showing dark fruits, plum and a little blackberry and some slightly black tea tannins. The Grenache shows some floral and strawberry but for a long time it is hard to find - it really only emerges on day3.
Length and intensity are exemplary and ridiculously good given the price. This is a wine that will genuinely reward serious cellaring. I don't want to give the wrong idea here - this is not a Grand Cru at Village prices. It is a bargain and offers rewards well above its station but it is not, ultimately, going to have the best Cotes du Rhone or CdP makers casting fearful looks over their shoulders.

Red fruit, dark forrest fruit. Accidity medium plus, tannins medium. Finish medium plus. Good.
