  • Group tasting note - not complete -

Aromas of herbaceousness - green pepper, Hubba Bubba grape flavoured gum, and mushroom. "It's like a stir fry in a glass"

  • Decanted for 1 hr... lots of sediment. Deep ruby tending to orange at the edges... showing some age. The nose is dried berries, cherries and plums, with lots of earthy herbs and a little meaty smokiness. Palette is warm and velvety, with some really complex spicy flavours, including lingering menthol and a little pine needle. Reasonable level of acidity keeps the finish precise... no heaviness. This bottle has aged well, but the fruit is going to be gone soon, so drink up.

  • Purple with a twinge of aging on the edges. Bit funky Frenchman on the nose, bit of country pig farmer dirt. Baskets of dustry dried fruit. Nice mouthfeel bright fruit in the mouth, strawberries, cherries, more funk, dust. Very mature, very sofhisticated, a bit MILFY in it's own wine world kinda way. Deep lingering finish of bright fruits, tannins there still, yummy factor is there. Big QPR.

  • Lovely bright purple inky black deep colour. Med bouquet, very fruit driven, cherry blackcurrant. Taste; very concentrated dark fruits, blackberry and black cherry, soft tannins, gentle oak, very soft mouthfeel, but very long lingering clean deep fruit flavours. Drinking very well now, but expect should stay good for another year or so, so Im changing my drink by date to end of 2010

  • Purchased a case+ for the 2007 Christmas party. Drank the remaining bottle with leftover grilled strip steak. Very pleasant wine and a great value. Nice nose, and smooth tannins. Might have lasted another 1-2 years. Worth buying this varietal again in the future as a fun/different red.
