Non-complex, glou glou-style red-berried Yarra Valley PN from new acquaintance Hoddles Creek - enjoyable juice for sure. Light, somewhat opaque red-ruby in appearance. Nose completely brimming with red berries - raspberry, strawberry & cranberries, vanilla-styled oak presence, somewhat sweet but w a whiff of orange zest. Palate is in complete balance, decent acidity, utterly linear & non-resistant, flavours echoing nose to the sweet side w a mix of fresh & ripe red fruit, finishing brief, juicy & slightly spicy.

Austere, lacking fruit. Not anywhere near the rave reviews. Might look better in 2-3 years. Two days later it is beginning to shyly show its fruit. I expect 3+ years will produce a transformation. Frank, the winemaker, knows his game. The rest is going into the cellar.

Ok. Big sales script, not delivering at this stage. Average at best.

This is an annual purchase and always represented great VFM Pinot. I found this quite light, perhaps reflecting its 13.% alc. Very easy drinking.
