In 2023, this wine still has some fizz, and it has taken on the typical old Champagne flavors of toasted nuts and soybeans, with hints of ginger and orange rind. The finish remains long. Average Champagne drinkers might not enjoy its current state, so drink up! 92 points. Feb. 2023.

On the downward side of life expectancy but a pleasant surprise for something forgotten/neglected. Color was golden, not real fizzy in kind with what others have noted. Nose was bread dough/yeasty, almonds and green fruits. On the palate. soft on the front with pears, and finished up with nutty/bread dough/yeast towards the finish, slightly astringent. Decent acidity. After two hours, the bread dough subsided and become more citrus, like a pulpy tangerine. Astringency subsided as well and some florals returned to the nose too. Not a champagne guy, but overall it made me more interested in how they develop.

Lovely aged Champagne. Nutty and appley with fine mousse.

Tasted at JNJ. Lively bottle in spite of its age. Deep gold and huge depth of fruit. Quite a contrast to this label in NV format.
