Still too young - somewhat tannic, not as integrated as it could be. But clearly a complex, plush, large-limbed wine waiting to emerge. There were broader reservations that 2020 would be rough for Anderson Valley and maybe also Sonoma, but there's no particular incipient sign of that here. Just give it time, whether that's on opening now or a few more years in the bottle.

A plush and velvety Pinot with delicious berry and cherry fruits. Layered and luscious, with some savoury plant matter flavour buried just below the flesh. Ripe taninns with a kiss of minerally acidity carry the finish.

45 minute decant. Medium ruby color; fruity nose. Delicious wine. Nice and chewy mouthfeel, with plenty of tannic heft on the back end. Red fruit, roast meat, and tart blackberry. Good now, will be better in 3-4 years.
Two hours later, the tannins have smoothed and the wine has become more harmonious and of a whole. Would have scored a 94 or 95 if this was the case upon opening. Perhaps this is a glimpse of whar to expect with a few more years of bottle age.

This wine tasted funky and seemed to be on the verge of being spoiled without a full taint. I did not enjoy this wine and it is one of the worst Failla’s I have experienced.

A rich Pinot, sweet black cherry and bramble, nice balance and a grippy finish.
