  Decanted for two hours prior to tasting.
  Dark Magenta color; plum nose.
  Lots of dark blue/black fruit upfront, undergirded by layers of savory spice, leather, and candied grape. Quite delicious now, this one will improve with age. There’s enough tannid structure here to suggest it has at least 10 to 15 years of life ahead of it. In the meantime, if you don’t have that much patience, it is quite enjoyable right now

  This is a characteristic Savoy vineyard expression. Big, complex, lithe, with nice acid and fine tannins. The fruit elements stayed closed despite an hour decant. It didn’t open for another hour: then it revealed a much more open, round and almost sweet bowl of berries and cinnamon. A lovely wine that should keep evolving for 5+ years.
