A cellar orphan - one of 100 random ones recently found. I set myself up for a disappointment but was pleasantly surprised. This wine held up very well despite the fact that it is about 6 years beyond the last drink date. The fruit disappeared leaving minerals and spice up front. The oak pretty much evaporated. Clean and refreshing on a warm spring evening. I have another bottle and will serve that one a little cooler.

Dinner with friends: pain de catalan, sauteed asparagus (garlic & olive oil), and baked salmon (marinated in ginger-soya sauce-garlic-lime sauce), & caesar salad. This is fantastic wine, well aged and worked marvelously with all the foods and the pre-tasting. Eye: Full yellow colour. Nose: acidic-oak-citrus balance...wonderful teaser! Taste: extremely well balanced from the fruit to the finish, whether with astringent garlic on the bread to the sauteed vegetable to the marinated salmon. Fantastic! Wish I procured more of this...cellar more recent purchases for future enjoyment!!!

Served blind. Confused for california chardonnay. Nose consisted mostly of oak notes with little fruit. Fullly mature and unlikely to improve with more age. Not really similar to white bordeaux wines. In the mouth round and soft. Not really a food wine.

My notes are consitent to the last bottle. Good fruit that is overwhelmed by oak.

Blind I would have guesses a chardonnay. The sur lies aging really adds some depth and interesting character.
