Color of ruby red with slight darker hue. Bright nose dark liquor and berries. Bright red fruit up front with heavy anise. Finish with tight tannins, but a bit of bitter dark chocolate. Nice Bordeaux style Virginia wine.

Not very impressed right now, but this could grow with a few more years. Beautiful dark purple color I'd expect from PV. Nose is very subtle with little heat- smokey notes of blueberries and dark chocolate. The flavor was off right away, so not sure if it was starting to spoil, if it's just the wine's personality or if it just needs time in decanter. It does have 3% each of Carmenere and Merlot, which even at that small amount is discernable. Starts a bit soft and watered down, but tight tannins come out quickly. Bright flavors of mixed berries - blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. Little smokey and light black pepper on back end. The typical PV comes out on silky finish as it hangs on palate. My hope is this builds with a few more years in cellar UPDATE: I switched to a Syrah glass from larger mouth glass and the typical dark fruit PV flavors came out more, but merlot still is there

Took to a family dinner, no formal notes.
Solid fruit on the nose and palate with a solid finish.
Enjoyed by all who had it.
