Pale lemon, pronounced spritz; slate, hessian; off-dry, fresh as a daisy, delightfully light weight, refreshing; slips down a treat. Splendid finish. .

Bang on representation and a whole lot of deliciousness - a great sip from start to finish. Little information is available on AJ Adam, which probably speaks somewhat to Andreas Adam’s dedication to his craft and lack of attention seeking. The wines speak for themselves: the im Pfarrgarten, or ‘garden of the rectory’, is produced from grapes on a less sloped section of the once famous but now seemingly undervalued Hofberg vineyard on the north shore of the Dhron river (tributary of the Mosel, down river from Piesport and the legendary Piesporter Goldtröpfchen vineyard where AJ Adam also has a small holding). The 2015 presented itself as both elegant and assertive, providing a wide array of beautiful notes held fast by bracing acidity. Lemon, green apple, and fresh grass on the nose turned towards ripe lime, gala apple, and ripe melon on the palate. Mandarin, lychee, and pineapple all came forth as well, countered by a notable streak of slate/steel. The wine did carry a savoury sense of peppercorns and green pepper, and a classic petrol note hung throughout. With time, a subtle creaminess developed, and the finish showed touches of ginger spice, cinnamon, and honey. A pleasure throughout! Given my love of Riesling, and particularly off-dry styles, it’s difficult not to be biased when writing about them. But hey, this is my feed, so...tough.

Pronounced spritz, buttercup colour; piercingly focused nose, citrus overtones; racy, intriguing, crisp acidity; vibrant finish. Tip-top Feinherb. No doubt will age, but perfect now.

Still going strong after 3 days opened. Pretty impressive and enjoyable on each day. Harmonious and balanced throughout. Nothing out of place.
