Good wine in an off vintage. No real power but soft and ready to drink now. Color and weight are typical. Decent acidity that will not last as long as in better vintages.

Now take this note with a grain of salt, as I don't typically drink Italian (though I've had cheaper Italian that I like more than this). That said this has 12 years of age yet my first sip is met with gripping tannins...still? I guess slumber this for at least another decade but then the already tired fruit turns tertiary? IDK. Minty, spicy tones with muddled fruit and secondary leather flavors underneath - odd progression. Not my style, and the $200 price tag seems criminal. No thank you

Hafliğasmakk, án Hafliğa og şó. (Hlíðarás 10): Í ljósari kantinum (nánast pinot litur) og lítur út fyrir að vera gamalt. Loftað í u.þ.b. tvo tíma. Nef: Brennisteinn (eins og í Grýtu eldspýtum), blautur pappír og brjóstsykur. Frekar lokað. Á tungunni: Remma, edik?! Mjög furðulegt. Það mátti sjá hökur skella í gólf þegar vínið var afhjúpað. Við spurðum okkur hvort vínið væri skemmt en það var engin augljós kostur í boði þar. Gef allavega ekki einkunn. Mjög svekkjandi niðurstaða. Björgvin tók restina af þessu heim með sér og smakkaði daginn eftir. Engin augljós skemmd, taldi hann en hugsanlega hefur þetta vín lent í einhverju. Of miklum hita eða beinu sólarljósi.

Notes of dark cherry, plum, olive, and blueberry.
Needed time to open up, still lots of tannins, but mellowed out over time.
Long finish, beautiful nose.
93 points.

Boring wine. Muddled fruit, no thrills. A sleepy high.
