Decanted to clear sediment 30 minutes before drinking and returned to the bottle. First glass was tighter than second. Gentle Ruby red with light bricking at the rim. Soft fruit on the nose and palate with well evolved tannins. Very popular among all the drinkers. Wonderful positive surprise from a 50 year old wine.

3 bottles, 1 very pale other 2 good but lighter than other vintages. Gaston confirms this is typical for this vintage. Needed 2-3 hours in the decanter to open up, but then blossomed into a wonderful classic Musar with open aromas. Sweet ripe fruit with spicey and leather tones. Pale bottle showing less well but still enjoyable (87/100). Finish long dry and providing the lingering Musar flavours. I have a few bottles left which will be kept and drunk over the next 10 years. After 5 hours in the decanter the wine was at an amazing peak.

Nase: Sherry, Süße, vielleicht etwas Brombeere/Erdbeere, Mund: vor allem Säure, schöner Alkohol. Dennoch überalt. (fill: LS)

Chicago Rotating Host Wine Dinner Series - May 2013 (RPM Italian - Chicago, IL): Tasted blindly. Something was off with this wine...or was it correct? Hard to tell with Musar (in general), but given its age it was even harder for us to really know. Lots of VA and nail polish.

Chateau Musar Tasting (Daniel Boulud, Singapore): Very aged taste and character bordering on mustiness. Not my taste but perhaps needed a bit more decanting.
