Drinking perfectly right now, tannins are now quite mild. Slightly vegetal and musty nose, smooth on delivery. Drink now - will keep, although no real need to wait! Had it against 09 Kanonkop, which was more fruit forward and not quite as sophisticated.

The Wine Society, UK, tasting of Chateau Musar. Wines introduced by owners Gaston and Mark Hochar. Venue: London.
Medium plum colour. The nose is well developed, lovely aromas of blackcurrant and dark berry fruit. Rich palate, well matured and changing in the glass over one hour. Excellent.

Has aromas of leather, blackberries, minerals, and mint. Its medium bodied spherical black, red and blue fruits palate has lovely depth and finishes mediumish, fresh with some volatile acidity and tapering. 14%. Needs 7-8 hrs aeration. 14%. Drink now with a rare fillet steak or lay down 10-20 years. I don't know if this will make old bones as its a lighter Musar but who knows they age legendarily. One glass.

Delicious. Medium bodied with layers of flavors. Plum, red cherry, mushroom, forest soil. Rich with flavor but not extracted 13.5% abv. Young for a Musar but great now and it will continue to improve with age, particularly worth holding if you like tertiary characteristics.
