Probably not the best stored bottle.Light red color. Red fruit bouquet plus leather, tobacco. Quite light, on the way to dry out… Not as good as other years.

Ex-Château 2018. Filled into the neck, cork pristine (re-corked?). Decanted for two hours in the morning, poured over dinner. Light in colour, medium to light garnet, with some sediment. Red fruit, red cherry, plum, some chocolate, leather, tobacco, ground coffee, meaty notes, complex spice notes, balsamic notes and some VA, with fresh acidity, well integrated tannin, and great persistence. Intriguing combination of freshness, savoury notes and old-age sweetness. Well structured, integrated and harmonious. Very pleasing. Consistent on day two. An exceptional wine!

Lebanese night, Chateau Musar tasting (Vilnius, Lithuania): Chateau Musar tasting, flight 3/4, wine 10/12. Made from a blend of equal proportions of CS, Cinsault and Carignan, aged for 12 months in FR oak barrels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, aged in bottle until its release in 2001. ‘95 vintage was great, but I enjoyed ‘94 even bit more, richer aroma and deeper concentration (hot vintage). Intense aroma of leather, cassis, prunes, black tea, cold cuts. Full body, concentrated, deep, touch of pleasant sweetness at first balanced by high acidity and medium tannins.

Very light, brick-ish red, with lots of orange at the rim. Warm spice, resin and herby basil on the nose. Such a vibrant palate - you'd never guess this was nearly 28 years old! Soft and well-rounded on the palate with very gentle tannins - sweet spice, quince and resin.
An absolute pleasure to drink.

Revising common wisdom about Musar - not 20y plus, but 25y plus even more amazing. This is complex, spicy, full, balanced, rich, complete, long and absolutely sumptuous...
