My first Freeman wine. Not really what is was expecting. Although it had firm acid, this was not what I would describe as Burgundian pinot. It was big and dark, and a bit Syrah-ish. Also, pretty significant dose of oak. A good wine made in a specific style. Just not the style I was expecting.

In a great spot for drinking. Suave textured, still all fruit. Dark raspberry and black cherry fruit on the palate. Waxy fruit expressed on the palate. Plump textured. Very appealing style with lots to love. 6-7 years from vintage date seems like a real sweet spot for this wine.

As has been the case from the start, I tend to rate this wine a little higher than other reviewers. Perhaps it is because I like fruity/decadent style PN. This is my last bottle. I had 2020 as the back end year of my drink window. As of last night, this one was in a very good drinking spot. Using 2020 as the last year might be conservative.

Seems to be fading a bit. Probably best to drink up.
