Quite a dark yellow, clear. Hints of honeysuckle, gardenia and apricot on the nose (but is that because I know it is a M/R/V blend?). Smooth, somewhat viscous but not oily mouthfeel. Good acidity levels, refreshing. Long finish. Flavour profile is ok but nothing outstanding. Interest enough for a glass. Only the best of the aromatics have more to give in aged format than their youthful freshness. Drink up.

Game of Rhones (St.Kilda Town Hall, Melbourne): Peach, cream, bees wax, apricot, mineral notes. In the mouth juicy with a waxy texture, cream, slight almond. Muted stone fruit that drops off quickly.

Torbreck Tasting (North Sydney Cellars): 44% Marsanne, 32% Roussanne, 24% Viognier. Floral as well, but compared to the 2011 Woodcutters next to it, the floral notes are much more intense and wild - there is also wax, flint and apricot. The palate has excellent mouth feel and good texture, it is quite rich in style but great fruit purity is still maintained. Very impressive and I liked it more and more every time I came back to the glass.

Langton's Cellar Club May 2013 (Roof Terrace Australian Museum): white flower, musk, stone fruit - peach and apricot, sweet spice, slight front of mouth phenolic grip, slightly warm, slightly bitter, lacks fruit on the palate which could all be forgiven if it was half the 38 AUD they are charging for it.

(Langton's Tasting, May 2013) [Roussane+Viognier+Marsanne] Fresh troprical fruit, leafy gooseberry, steely clean, streaky crispness, oily even. shellfish savory sweetness on finish.
