  • For Patrick's memorial. Dark black earthy aromas with some iron, dried fruit spice, and some charcoal aromas. Was good, but a bit musty tasting initially with time improved considerably. A rustic character that showed some underlying sweetness and light spices of sage, rosemary, thyme. Good and fun to try, although not great.

  • [Grand Millesime's Bordeaux:The Legendary Years 1928-1961 dinner at Circa Restaurant, Melbourne; Slip Label] Deep dark garnet, brilliant limpidity. Mature, ripe & expansive black cherry bouquet with a touch of earth, dark plum, dried herbs, licorice, leather, spice & toast; almost Burgundian in style. Medium plus weight, quite deep, intense, lush, mellow, dry but not bone dry with diminishing soft tannins & moderate amount of fine acidity; rustic, slender & ageing fast. Long, smooth & persistent finish. Drink up!
