A Savage Bday (67 Pall Mall, London): Unfortunately bad luck struck here and both the bottles that our friend brought along were bad and gone. Lots of VA too and just impossible to enjoy. Pity.

Xmas dinner at Old Holland. My bottle. Pop and poured. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Well received. Taken on more darker toned fruit now and with nice complex layers of earthiness and spices. Balsamic on the nose also. Very complex. Drinking at peak.

Opened for Izzy's 16th birday. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. A very good wine that showed nicely, however unlikely to collect from this producer given limited resources.

Served in a Italian restaurant Pane e Vino with Davy, pairing good with steak.

Looks like this could benefit from more time in the cellar...
