This wine is a pleasant surprise! It's not a house I follow, but perhaps I should. An earthy, rusty and dusty bouquet, more Pommard or Corton than Gevrey. Also notes of dried leaves and old red berries. The impression of evolution, with some spices. On palate, nice and savoury, earthy, dried and fresh red berries, some cherries and underbrush. Fully ripe, quite succulent and juicy fruit, sufficient acidity, not overripe. Fully accessible - no signs of shutting down even when drunk over three nights. A very good Village level Gevrey. I wonder if some of the evolution on the wine is due to the storage in the wine shop or whether this bottle is typical? I also wonder whether 2009 may have been particularly kind to this house and vineyard (I might get a 2010 and compare). Drink or cellar for 5-10 years, I'd think.
