  • 03.02.2024 - Lameeya Pre-CNY dinner ushering the Wood Dragon. Mine which I triple decanted 2.5 hours before dinner. Really struggled at the start; needed plenty of aeration & coaxing eventually revealing enticing bouquet of plum, black cherries & dark berries laced with tobacco & used leather. There is also a hint of balsamic with savory notes. Opulent tannins with the black berries & bright acidity taking centerstage. Tannins are mouth-coating and still quite grippy. Definitely need more time to integrate

  • 75% CS, 20% Sangiovese, 5% CF. 18 months French barrique. Conical hectolitre barrel fermented. Probably towards at the end of its life, stewed onion, plum jam, tobacco high integrated soft tannins, high acidity and medium plus finish

  • A big, chunky wine. I was hoping for more elegance and aromatic generosity but that was not present tonight. Perhaps the wine needs some more time (I think it does). Very well made, and it has all the stuffing. Wait 3-5 years.

    - Cassis, Black Plum, Black Cherry, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Violets, Cedar, Sweet tobacco, Cigar box, Black pepper.

Ripe black fruits, sweet spice, velvety and well integrated tannins, just the right amount of acidity, definitely rich but not punch you in the face powerful. A wine with harmony and finesse, everything is so balanced with good length and complexity. A wine that I think is at its peak. No decanting needed, just pour and experience its development over your dinner (Yes it pairs great with food), it will not disappoint. Drink now.
