Opened extremely lean. Fruit only came out roughly 40-50 minutes later. A brief moment where it had a lovely Vosne spice, strawberry fields, with ethereal lift and texture. The definition slowly declined, although it did keep the ethereal texture.
Not bad overall, but given this experience and overall notes, probably wouldn't seek it out.

Super ripe - bottle was stored impeccably, but even still a little bit unexpexted. Better than expected concentration. Nice cherry fruit with good spice; definitely grand cru fruit, but lacks the refinement and integration that makes some wines truly satisfying. Worth it for the price.

medium red cherry color, maturing spicy cherry on the nose, cloves, plums, on the palate cuddly cherry fruit, punchy on the middle, a bit light and lacking the breed of a top example- this is all the same an attractive Echezeaux with lovely cherry fruit and earthy accents.

Grand cru depth and density, and so much ripeness that I had to check to make sure it wasn't an '03. Chewy, earthy, dark pinot fruit, oak spice, moderate tannins. While we really enjoyed the bottle, at times it felt a little flat (that's been my reaction to several recent '02 Burgs; maybe it's just me). Brisk attack and long finish; I'm probably being overly critical of a very nice wine.

(Nicolas Potel Echezeaux) This was a stunner. So incredibly concentrated and complex. Ther most structured wine of the Potel 2002's that I have tasted. Long. Epic.
