Guzzling grapes since 1990. Studying to become a Som with my wife while traveling and tasting as much wine as possible.
2018 Mascota Vineyards Unánime

Fantastic wine for the price. Jammy dark fruit and sweet blackberry compote on the palate which is balanced by a smokey tar and game-iness on the nose. Subtle tannins and a clean finish. Classified as an Argentinian cab, but is reminiscent of a Malbec. Would pair well with a duck, turkey, quail, or lamb dish. Keep guzzlin’

2015 Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon The Reserve To-Kalon Vineyard

This wine is still singing beautifully even at almost 10 years of age. Roasted tomatoes, brick, tobacco, stewed blackberries, and vanilla greet you on the nose. As the wine decanted the nose began to show some signs of olive as well. Flavors of blackberry compote and plum continue on the palate, which carries into plush tannins and a lingering finish. What this wine lacks in its tannic structure, it makes up for on the nose. Excellent wine overall.

Stag’s Leap always comes thru. Firecracker and peppery on the nose. Plum, luxardo cherry, and dark fruit on the palate. Subtle tannins create a pleasurable finish. Can confirm it pairs well with lamb.
Keep guzzlin’
