Found this bottle hiding in our cellar well past its prime drinking window, but it held up better than expected. It had some notes of old age at first but they blew off after an hour. Color was somewhat brown and opaque, nose was musty but bright; acidity still relevant and fruit lively; tannins subdued but present. Day two better yet.

Pnp at an Italian restaurant to have with antipasti/cheeses and bread. Ruby red in the glass with a nose of dark red fruits/cherries and rose petals. Light to medium in body, burgundian in style and feel. Drinking beautifully at the eight year mark and even through it's at the end of its window it could probably go another 2-3 years. Well balanced and structured. Our friends enjoyed this wine immensely. Wish I had more. Good qpr.

From a case ordered from the winery. Initially, I was disappointed with this vintage. It seemed disjointed and one bottle even had some spritz. It has now come together and is drinking beautifully. Medium weight with an edge of minerality and focused burnt cherry flavors.

Theme was Oregon Pinot. One of the smoother wines of the night. A little less complex than two offerings from Chehalem, Ribbon Ridge R and the Reserve, it was quite good. This is the second to last of the case, it has aged nicely. I don't think it is getting any better now, but it could easily last another year or two.

Garnet, showing some lightening around the edge. Plum, cherry and sweet fruits on the nose. Rich and well balanced with ripe red fruits and a hint of residual sweetness. Medium long finish with some oak and tannins. I've liked this wine more with each tasting over the past couple years.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of blueberries and peppers up front followed by aromas of black berries, black cherries and a bit of birch. Flavors of black raspberries, black berries and black cherries. Bright acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or hold.

Wonderful bright nose after proper aeration. Bramble and dusty rose over notes followed by bright cigar box, oak and dark berry. The nose did not over state the wine, the long legs clung to the glass followed by smooth and velvety mouth feel. Then the berry hits your pallet and you find yourself floating in a garden paradise. The fruit is still evident but reserved and the aftertaste lingers for what seems like an eternity. All I can say is I enjoyed this wine!!!

I think everyone is underrating this wine. What are they looking for? I find a lovely, delicious example of the great pinot noir wines coming out of Oregon. It shows great appealing fruit with enough concentration and inner core to be a fine food wine. I suggest they try it blind against true red Burgundy from France. American wine drinkers, especially, will choose this over wines costing twice the price from Burgundy.

Stoller Vineyards is on a mystery latitude that must be very close to Sonoma. This was full bodied with ripe spiced berry and cherry fruit. The ripe fruit's foil was seasoned leather. A nice drawn out finish capped it off. Surprisingly full throttled for a Willamette Valley Pinot.

Medium ruby red with no sediment. Because of the spritz in a few previous bottles, I double decanted this bottle and it seemed to solve that issue. Otherwise, a pleasant wine with a good amount of fruit, but minimal minerality that other Stoller SV's possess. Plenty of life left in this wine.

Popped and let sit for about an hour before drinking. Very bright fruit on the palate, a bit less complexity than I was looking for. Cherry initially, but also some black fruit that was very nice. Not exactly what I wanted for the night, but very drinkable, happy to have it.

Served with a short decant, following a Williams Selyem Litton Estate. More subtle and less fruit forward than the WS, but held up quite well. Darker in color, and quieter on the nose and palate, but was very food friendly, and complemented the meal and was a great end to the evening.

This wine is still coming into its prime but is not quite there yet. It was just starting to open after an hour but was too delicious to wait for 2 hours. Burgundian in style, lush fruit predominates with some very slight acidity still on the finish. The only real disappointing feature is the nose, which is just average. A bit of spice and pepper but nothing to suggest the coming pleasures on the palate. So happy we have more to enjoy over the next few years. First rate winemaker here in Melissa Burr.

My last bottle of the '08, still showing strong fruit with black cherry and an earthy/gamey hint on nose. On entrance, the black fruit flavors are forward but not overbearing, with some licorice and spice surfacing mid-palate. Acidity keeps the middle lively with enough tannins to give it real structure that was still holding up. As with my earlier notes, it remains an elegant example of a structured yet supple Oregon Pinot Noir. Drink 2012-2015.

This Dundee Hills Pinot Noir is a opaque ruby red with a nose of dark fruit, forest floor, mint, and black pepper. The palate show a medium bodied wine with strawberry fruit sweetness then an acidic middle and supple tannin on the finish. The word delightful comes to mind.

Aromas of black cherry, plum, and a slight earthy note, along with some spice and a hint of oak. On entrance, the black fruit flavors are forward with noticeable black cherry and plum. Also some notes of licorice and spice in the mid-palate. Medium body and moderate tannins give it real structure that holds up to more than an hour in the glass (as if you can keep from drinking it that long!) and gives a long and enjoyable finish. An elegant and brilliant example of a structured yet restrained Pinot Noir. Drink 2012-2016.

Wines of the West Coast of the United States (Sydney): Colour: Bright ruby Nose: Red fruit, cherry, spice, autumnal and wet, forest floor, slight cream and toasty oak Mouth: Medium acid, red fruit – cherry, medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity, spice, toast, very nice.

Very fruity nose of ripe red raspberries and cherries, with the oak adding some hints of clove and cinnamon. On attack, strong berry and red fruit flavors with bright acidity. Light oak (only 35%) gives it good structure from medium tannins without being overbearing, a long finish with lingering berry and tannin. Even better than its price point would suggest (~$35).

Medium ruby robe with red rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of bramble fruits, cola and cocoa. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, light-to-medium sweet tannins and well-integrated alcohol (which is listed as 13.1%). The flavors mirror the nose and the middle palate stays intact. Medium, smooth finish. This is yet another example of how good the 2008 vintage was in Oregon. It is a reasonably-priced Pinot which should drink nicely for another 3-4 years.

Wine Advocate. Medium-ruby colored with a bouquet of spicy red fruits. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with layers of savory red fruit, enough ripe tannin to evolve for two to three years, and excellent length. Its friendly price makes it an outstanding value in Pinot Noir. October 2010

Just starting to settle in and show the rich Dundee fruit character that their vineyard is so renowned for....Dark and purple-garnet in glass, rich nose of rose petals and cherry, palate shows black cherry, loam, dark chocolate and a touch of spice, with a long and lingering finish. Really coming alive; good now, better in a year or two.....
